Deryck, also known as Bizzy D grew up in a few different places. Starting out in Scarborough, Canada where he had  his reputation as a champion recess fighter in elementary school. That all stopped when he retired from it at the age of eleven.Then he moved on to lead a simpler life in the small farming town of Keane, filled with fishing and Rod Stewart albums. Realizing he needed more, Bizzy and his mom picked up and moved to Ajax. Soon after they had moved Deryck bought his first guitar. Then it started - bands and song ideas started to flow. Former bands that Deryck had been in included: Powerful young huslers, Eternal Death, Chemical head and Final notice. Then of course in the summer of 1996 Deryck joined with Steve and formed the begining of Sum 41!
